Day 3 Lava Fields

Started the day with a beautiful walk along the Deschutes River.

After Breakfast and some Grocery shopping. We were off to Lava Lands.

Mt. Bachelor on the left. The Sisters on the right.

A 200 year old tree that is small because it is struggling for nutrients in the lava field

A small Lava Tube

Then we were off to a huge Lava Tube.

Stairs into the tube

The tube was probably about 60 feet in diameter

We all had flashlights.

Here is what it looked like with the flashlights turned off. The tub was about a mile long. We didn't get to the end of it. Probably about 3/4 of a mile. It was also about 42 degrees down there.

Then we went to 10 barrel brewing company for a pint.

Time for dinner.

Let's fire up the grill

We ate dinner and watched the sunset.

And that is the end of Day 3. See you again for Day 4.
